Kieran Tierney makes top 20 European footballers rich list as Arsenal star rubs shoulders with Kylian Mbappe and Cristiano Ronaldo

Kieran Tierney’s eye-watering £110,000-a-week contract at Arsenal has seen him make it into the top 20 paid players in Europe. The Scotland star, ruled out of the do-or-die Nations League clash against Ukraine, penned the Gunners deal last year with that staggering wage reported.

And now a study has found that the former Celtic star is the 19th highest European earner in the continent and comfortably the highest earning Scot - with national team captain Andy Robertson reportedly on around half of that at Liverpool. But 25-year-old Tierney’s wage is dwarfed by the man who tops the world’s footballer rich list with Kylian Mbappe taking home a staggering £1 million a week after the striker signed a new deal at mega-bucks Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.

One man who is up against Mbappe this season is Rangers loan flop Aaron Ramsey after he joined Nice and despite his injury issues is said to be still coining it in with a reported £187,000 a week - but still less than half of the astronomical wage he was on at Juventus. His current pay packet has him at 15th in the top 20 of European players in the study by Voetbal Travel.

They looked at the salaries of more than 32,000 players in over 200 countries with the top three earners in the world all coming from PSG with South American duo Lionel Messi and Neymar following Mbappe. However, the highest earning Europeans after Mbappe were Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid’s Eden Hazard while Sadio Mane’s £354,000 a week at Bayern Munich made him the highest paid African player.
