Former Tottenham striker Darren Bent has urged Mikel Arteta to let Kieran Tierney loose in the wake of his all-action display in the 2-1 defeat to Everton.
The Scotland international was brilliant for 65 minutes before he was subbed, and his perfect cross set up Martin Odegaard's opener at Goodison Park until the Toffees staged a comeback.
Tierney's magic wasn't for everyone, however, with misfiring striker Alexandre Lacazette left visibly frustrated with the former Celtic man for apparently not getting up the pitch quickly enough.
But that complaint appears wide of the mark with the France international doing little of his own to make an impact on the game.
And Bent, a diehard Arsenal fan, wants Mikel Arteta to place his faith in Tierney and give him extended game time after a spell recent injury woes.
Speaking to talkSPORT, he said: "Tierney was fantastic last night, the balls he he put in the box, he was working hard.
"I can understand, maybe, managing his minutes, but at some stage you have to take the leash off and say 'just go'."
Arsenal currently sit in seventh and are four points behind West Ham - the team who currently occupy the final Champions League group stage place.
