Kieran Tierney injury update as Celtic star 'expected to return' for Rangers clash

Kieran Tierney is expected to be fit for Celtic's clash with Rangers on Sunday despite missing Scotland's Euro 2020 qualifying double header.

The Hoops left back missed the defeat to Kazakhstan and win over San Marino with a calf problem having already missed a large chunk of the season.

Hip and pelvic problems have forced him off the pitch this season with three months of the campaign spent on the sidelines.

But he is set to hand Neil Lennon a boost ahead of Sunday's game by declaring himself fit enough to start against rivals Rangers, according to the Scottish Daily Mail.

Mikael Lustig admits Celtic fitness fight as he faces Rangers sweat

Tierney is one of a number of defensive injury worries for Lennon after the international break.

Mikael Lustig limped out of Sweden's win over Romania on Sunday after just 24 minutes. He is also likely to be fit for Sunday's clash despite admitting he was a major doubt.

There are also worries over Dedryck Boyata after the big Belgian withdrew from the squad to face Cyprus on Sunday night.
