Kieran Tierney injury scare as Arsenal star limps off to leave Scotland sweating over Euro 2020

Arsenal and Scotland are sweating over Kieran Tierney as the defender was forced off with an apparent knee injury.

The left-back started for the Gunners against Liverpool but went down just before the break and was clearly in pain.

Tierney had to be replaced by Cedric after being assessed by the Arsenal medical staff and appeared to have taken a knock to his knee.

The Scotland star was hit while kicking and overextended the joint, with the medical staff testing the movement.

Tierney didn't have his foot planted when the challenge was made and both club and country will hope there has been no ligament damage.

The Celtic youth product starred for Scotland in their opening World Cup qualifiers, bagging three assists against the Faroe Islands.

With Euro 2020 on the horizon Steve Clarke will be looking for him to play a key part for the national team.

Tierney has excelled playing on the left of a back-three, allowing him to play in the same side as Liverpool's Andy Robertson.

He's also become a fan favourite at Arsenal, with supporters both north and south of the border hoping there is no serious damage.
