Kieran Tierney injury latest after Arsenal star limped out of warm-up ahead of West Ham win

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta insists Kieran Tierney won't miss too long after pulling up during the warm-up on Saturday night.

The former Celtic star was due to start against West Ham in the Premier League but was taken out of the side just 10 minutes before kick-off and replaced with Sead Kolasanic.

It was a blow for Arsenal with Tierney settling in as a key play for the Gunners since the English Premier League returned after lockdown, but they did manage to secure a 2-1 win.

They didn't have it all their own way though and needed a late Eddie Nketiah strike to grab all three points after Michail Antonio had cancelled out Alexandre Lacazette's opener.

But the main worry for Arsenal fans was Tierney who has been hit with a series of injury problems throughout his time in North London.

Hip problems were a serious issue during the final year of his Celtic career but former Rangers hero Arteta has moved to allay fears that it could be a bad one again for the left back.

He said: "Kieran is fine. He had a little muscular discomfort in the last few days. He tried today and worked in the warm-up but he wasn't feeling comfortable today.

"Well, we could not control it. We believed that he was going to be fit but during the warm-up, in the last 10 minutes, he said he wasn't feeling OK. We had to make a decision. We were prepared just in case and Kola came on and had a good game."
