Kieran Tierney in UEFA Euro 2020 boost as Arsenal star takes part in FULL training ahead of England showdown

Scotland have been boosted by the sight of Kieran Tierney returning to full training on the eve of Scotland’s biggest tournament clash in decades.

The Arsenal star took part in a contact session on Thursday morning as he stepped up his bid to face England at Wembley.

Tierney, 24, was a shock absentee from our opening Euro 2020 game against the Czech Republic that ended in an agonising 2-0 defeat.

He was ruled out with a calf injury, a setback that denied Steve Clarke’s side a dynamism from defence at Hampden.

But although the defender – who will play on the left side of a back three if fit on Friday – was spotted back on the pitch on Wednesday, he was involved only in running and was rated at only 50-50.

According to Sky Sports, though, a smiling Tierney has now taken part in ball work and was seen stretching his troubling calf.

Clarke has already revealed a decision regarding his fitness will be taken later on Thursday – if not on matchday itself.

Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate will be watching the will-he-won’t-he play speculation closely as his selection could well be influenced by Tierney’s inclusion – such has been the Emirates star’s talent and form.

Scotland fly down to London from their Darlington base later today ahead of the press conference this evening.
