Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney has hailed Scott Brown as his "hero" after the captain announced he was leaving Celtic.
The 35-year-old midfielder has signed a pre-contract with Aberdeen to become a player-coach under new manager Stephen Glass.
It ends Brown 's 14-year long association with the club with 22 major domestic honours taken to Celtic Park.
Tierney lifted five league titles, two League Cups and two Scottish Cups alongside skipper Brown at Parkhead.
The 23-year-old has taken to Instagram to praise the efforts of the iconic captain.
Tierney posted a series of images of the pair during their time as Celtic teammates following be a touching message to the outgoing skipper.
He wrote: “Congratulations on everything you achieved mate. Was an honour to play alongside you for so long.
"My hero. Captain, leader, legend.”
