Kieran Tierney in Arsenal reinvention as former Celtic defender turns winger and scores volley

Arsenal star Kieran Tierney sparkled in an unfamiliar role as Arsenal defeated Watford 4-1 in a friendly.

The former Celtic man came off the bench for the Gunners as they took on Watford in a friendly.

Tierney looked comfortable in his new attacking role as the Gunners dispatched of the Hornets. Eddie Nketiah, Alex Lacazette, Miguel Azeez were the other goalscorers as Arsenal saw off the newly-promoted Hornets at London Colney.

Often used as part of a back three last season, Tierney quickly became a fan favourite at the Emirates following his move from Celtic.

His performances at Celtic caught the eye of those in north London as Arsenal were the side to take him south of the border. In total at Celtic he made 170 appearances, scoring eight goals and providing 37 assists.

Since signing for Arsenal Tierney has went on to make 62 appearances for the club, scoring three goals and providing nine assists.

The versatility of Tierney is undoubtedly one of his biggest strengths as he has played in a host of roles for club and country already throughout his career.

Tierney is natural at left back, but has often played in central defence, as well as having a spell as right-back for the Scottish national side and as a left winger for Arsenal.

He has also made 23 appearances for the Scotland national side and was part of the squad at the recent Euro 2020 tournament.
