Scotland star Kieran Tierney is missing from Arsenal 's match with Aston Villa due to an ankle problem.
The Gunners ace has battled several fitness concerns since completing a move to England's Premier League in 2019 from Celtic.
He missed almost a year's worth of Scotland action before returning to head coach Steve Clarke's squad in September 2020 and Tierney has appeared 70 times overall for Arsenal.
Mikel Arteta's side face Aston Villa tonight and a bruised left ankle keeps Tierney out of action against the Villans.
Clarke will no doubt have his eye on the situation, with Scotland 's crucial World Cup 2022 qualifiers against Moldova and Denmark looming next month.
Tierney has occupied the left-centre-back role in Clarke's 3-5-2 system with the national team.
The 24-year-old has played every Premier League game for Arsenal so far this season but will miss the chance to face off against Scotland teammate John McGinn this evening.
Arsenal take on Leeds United, Leicester City and Watford before the international break.
