Kieran Tierney headlines Arsenal kit launch as 'future captain' earns starring role

Arsenal have officially launched their new home kit ahead for the 20/21 season.

Fans were treated to a glimpse of the new look last month after images leaked online but the English Premier League big boys officially debuted the Adidas kit on Thursday.

And Kieran Tierney earned a starring role as he posed alongside his Gunners teammate Nicolas Pepe for the official club images.

The 23-year-old Celtic hero has emerged as a key man under Mikel Arteta after finally putting his injury blues behind him.

Tierney was brilliant in the 2-0 FA Cup semi-final win over Manchester City and was involved in both of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's strikes at Wembley.

Gunners supporters seemed pleased with the new look with many predicting the Scotland international will be a "future captain" under the Spaniard in the coming seasons.

Tierney's headline role comes after Arteta once again raved about his in-form left-back.

He said: "I think I can talk for all the staff when I say we are delighted with him. He’s a joy of a kid.

"He’s always willing to do more, he always wants to train harder, he wants to push himself more. He had some difficult moments since he joined but hopefully he feels (settled).

“We really like him and we really support him. I really appreciate everything he’s done since we joined. For me, he’s a player who is a really good role model for any other player in the squad.”

Meanwhile, many were surprised as Arsenal outcast Matteo Guendouzi also featured prominently with the hope that the 19-year-old midfielder can earn another chance after being banished after the defeat to Brighton.
