Kieran Tierney gets Arsenal rave review as bowled over Gunners legend gushes 'look at this'

Martin Keown has lauded Kieran Tierney 's drive to lead by example at Arsenal.

The Scotland international was a key part of the Gunners side that romped to a North London derby victory over Tottenham on Sunday.

Mikel Arteta's side blew their rivals away with three first-half goals and Tierney played a role in a devastating counter that finished with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang firing home the hosts' second.

The former Celtic left-back turned in a typically dynamic display in an Arsenal side now showing signs of life following a dismal start to the campaign.

Keown singled out an understanding between Tierney and Emile Smith-Rowe as a key part of their plan against Spurs and saluted the defender's determination to "make things happen".

“It just kept happening,” he told the BBC. “Smith Rowe comes all the way across (to the right), it’s really difficult to deal with and that’s the signal for Tierney to get down the left-hand side.

"They’re nice and patient in their build-up, taking control. There’s a hunger about them.

“Look at this, this young man (Tierney) wants to make things happen at Arsenal. He’s whistling down that left-hand side. And this is a goal, this is a brilliant move, a give-and-go with Smith Rowe.

"No one going with him and again, it’s the same four (Martin Odegaard, Aubameyang, Smith-Rowe and Bukayo Saka getting forward)."
