Kieran Tierney flies out with Celtic as Arsenal launch 'second' bid

Arsenal target Kieran Tierney has joined the rest of the Celtic squad in flying out for their summer training camp.

And as the full-back boarded the plane at Glasgow Airport a report emerged Arsenal have launched a second offer for the 22-year-old.

The English Premier League giants opened with a bid of £15million, one that was swiftly rejected by the Celtic board.

Now it is claimed by the Sun Arsenal have made another offer of £17.5m which is also set to be knocked back.

Celtic want around £25m for Tierney and will cite the transfer fee of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, with the Crystal Palace full-back poised to join Manchester United for more than £50m.

It is also believed Arsenal will offer players as part of the package to persuade Celtic to part with one of their prized assets.

For the meantime, Tierney remains focused on getting fit following an operation he had at the end of the season.

The Scotland star’s season was ravaged by injury and he will use the trip to Austria and Switzerland to return to peak condition.

He was joined by the likes of Leigh Griffiths, Karamoko Dembele and Odsonne Edouard.

New stars such as Andrew Gutman and Marian Shved – who were signed in January only to immediately be loaned out – were also on the flight.

Celtic play Pinkafeld on Wednesday in their first pre-season friendly ahead of a return to action in their opening Champions League qualifier on July 09/10.

Neil Lennon ’s side then face Wiener Neustadt on Saturday, June 29 before taking on St Gallen the following Tuesday.

Celtic’s final game before the second leg of the qualifier against Sarajevo is a friendly versus Ligue 1 side Rennes.
