Kieran Tierney earns Piers Morgan Arsenal approval but worried Gunners diehard shares 'curse' fears

Man of the moment Kieran Tierney has earned the approval of celebrity Arsenal fan Piers Morgan for his display during his side's rousing 2-0 FA Cup win over Manchester City.

The Good Morning Britain host was delighted with the Celtic icon's role in the win as Gunners boss Mikel Arteta got one over his master Pep Guardiola at Wembley.

Tierney continued his rich vein of form since lockdown with a performance packed with grit and skill and his inch-perfect through ball set up Pierre Emerick Aubameyang's second.

The rave reviews flooded in for the Scotland international and the 55-year-old was among the well wishers as he simply posted "This guy Kieran Tierney."

Morgan 's update was picked up on instantly but there was a section of Arsenal followers who shared their concerns over the outspoken broadcaster's opinion.

Some worried whether the public thumbs-up could a be a curse on a player after they reminded him of previous exuberant social media reactions.

Scott Easton said: "You said the same about Guendouzi, in fact you said he should be captain.

"You don’t know a player so don't big up Tierney just yet."

Steg joked he was the inspiration for Morgan's Tweet, stating: "I told you weeks ago Mr Morgan build your team around him and I didn't even get a like for it."

Meanwhile, Dicky Phillips was blown away with Tierney's showing, adding: "He is our future captain, without a doubt."

While Challenge said: "It’s just typical of the Scottish national side to finally have two world class players & they’re both LBs."

Meanwhile Tierney issued an apology after making a cheeky middle finger gesture during a group photo following his side’s win over Manchester City in the FA Cup.

The 23-year-old said: “Didn’t realise this was getting posted. Was a joke with the kitman. I’m so sorry if it caused anyone offence - wasn’t meant in any way.”
