Kieran Tierney Arsenal injury all clear as Celtic icon set for key Mo Salah assignment

Arsenal standout Kieran Tierney is set to win his fitness battle and make an instant return to the starting XI for his side's trip to Anfield.

The Scotland international was forced out of last weekend's thrilling 3-2 win over West Ham due to a groin complaint suffered during the pre-match warm-up.

Gunners boss MIkel Arteta insisted the move was precautionary and the £25m left-back appears primed to start against Liverpool.

And that will be a relief for the Spaniard as Tierney has earned rave reviews for keeping Mo Salah in check during his two previous tussles against the Premier League icon.

The Egyptian superstar is known for turning defenders inside out but the former Celtic hero matched up well with Liverpool's talisman.

The Monday night clash is a big one as the winner will move top alongside Everton and Leicester at the top of the table.

The task is tall for Arsenal as they look to end Liverpool's 60-game home Premier League unbeaten run that stretches back three years.

But supporters will be buoyed if Tierney is named in the team as he once again comes up against good friend Andy Robertson.
