Kieran Sadlier to Bolton Wanderers transfer confirmed as Ian Evatt offers verdict

Bolton Wanderers have completed the permanent signing of attacking midfielder Kieran Sadlier from Rotherham United.

The 27-year-old has been on Wanderers' radar for some time and was a wanted man in the summer, but a move never came to fruition.

Now, though, Ian Evatt has got his man and Sadlier has put pen-to-paper on a two-and-a-half year contract at the University of Bolton Stadium.

The former Doncaster Rovers and Cork City man will wear the number 22 shirt after signing for an undisclosed fee.

On his sixth signing of the transfer window, Evatt said: “Kieran is a player we tried to sign in the summer and it didn’t happen. We tried to sign him again at the start of this window and it didn’t look like it was going to happen, and then we’ve managed to get it done and over the line.

"I think he’s delighted and we’re delighted. He’s used to winning football matches. He’s been a big part of the Rotherham team that is doing really well in this division.

“He’s a goal scorer at this level, who can play in a number of positions and it’s a no-brainer for us. He’s a player that improves us and makes us better, which we are trying to do in this window.”

Wanderers host Sunderland tomorrow in League One and there is hope that Sadlier will be eligible to play.
