Kieran McGeeney has been reappointed as Armagh senior football manager for the 2022 season.
McGeeney has already served seven years in the role and was given a two-year extension in 2019 with the option of an additional season, which he has now been granted by the county board.
The 2002 All-Ireland winning captain guided Armagh to Division One last year and maintained their top flight status courtesy of a play-off win over Roscommon in this year’s truncated League campaign.
After beating Antrim in the Ulster quarter-final, Armagh were eliminated by Monaghan at the semi-final stage last month.
McGeeney’s continuation in the role means that 2022 will be his 33rd consecutive season of involvement at senior inter-county level in some capacity.
After his lengthy playing career ended in 2007, he moved straight into management with Kildare and following six years in that role, he joined Paul Grimley’s management team in Armagh for the 2014 season, following which he succeeded him.
