Kieran Marmion makes Connacht return in final Champions Cup game

Kieran Marmion makes his first appearance for Connacht since November as they strive to end their Champions Cup campaign with a third and final pool win at Montpellier.

Marmion, who has recovered from a back injury, returns to the scrum-half role that Caolan Blade has made his own this season.

Jack Carty, who failed to make Ireland's Six Nations squad after a difficult time with the province post-Japan, retains the no 10 jersey.

"We had a great win over Montpellier in the opening round but we are under no illusion that the return leg will be a huge challenge,” said Connacht boss Andy Friend.

“We have picked a strong side and are aiming to win the game and regain some momentum ahead of an important block of games coming in the PRO14.

“We are delighted to see Kieran Marmion back from injury. He has worked really hard to get back on the field. His experience alongside Jack Carty will be a boost to us on Sunday.”

Connacht: O’Halloran, Porch, Godwin, Aki, Healy, Carty, Marmion; McAllister, Heffernan, Robertson McCoy; Maksymiw, Thornbury, Masterson, Fainga’a, Butler (c).

Replacements: Murphy, Buckley, Kenny, Murray, McKeon, Blade, Fitzgerald, Daly.
