Kieran Lee injury latest and Bolton Wanderers team news ahead of Port Vale clash

Bolton Wanderers are waiting for the results of a scan to learn the extent of midfielder Kieran Lee's groin injury.

Lee was not in the Wanderers matchday squad which travelled to the Abbey Stadium to take on Cambridge United on Saturday after picking up the strain on Friday

Wanderers lost their first game of the Leauge One season over the weekend after Shilow Tracey's goal proved decisive for the U's.

Speaking after the encounter, Bolton manager Ian Evatt said that Lee had picked up a groin injury and were awaiting the results of a scan, but did not think the problem was 'too bad'.

And ahead of tomorrow evening's encounter in the Papa John's Trophy against Port Vale, the Wanderers manager was still awaiting the results of the scan on the midfielder.

He said: "He's having a scan so we'll wait for the outcome of that and the diagnosis."

In terms of other team news, Wanderers will be without midfielder Josh Sheehan after the former Newport County man's call-up to the senior Wales side after previously being on standby.

Attacker Elias Kachunga is poised to start for Wanderers in tomorrow's encounter at the University of Bolton Stadium, which would be the second time he has began a match for Bolton.

But it seems the match will come too soon for central defender Will Aimson, who has only recently returned to training after recovering from a groin problem.

Evatt said: "Will's only trained two days so he's not ready to be involved yet."
