Kieran Hayler and fiancée put on a united display as Katie Price avoids jail for 'vile' text

Kieran Hayler and his fiancée Michelle Penticost put on a brave face on Friday, after his ex-wife Katie Price avoided jail over breaching her restraining order.

The couple held hands as they were pictured for the first time since Katie, 44, was sentenced over a foul-mouthed text she sent to her ex-husband Kieran, 35, calling Michelle a "c***ing w***e" and a "gutter s**g" in January.

Katie swerved a prison sentence over breaching her restraining order which banned her from contacting the mother-of-two directly or indirectly for five years when it was imposed in June 2019.

The couple put on a united display with Michelle glancing at her phone on the walk, after detailing in her victim impact statement, read to the court, how the breach had a "devastating effect" on her mental wellbeing.

Katie arrived at Lewes Crown Court with her fiancé Carl Woods and was handed an 18-month community order to do 170 hours of unpaid work after previously pleading guilty to the breach.

The court heard through a statement from Michelle how she felt "scared, vulnerable and not wanting to leave the house".

Her statement read: "The impact of what Katie has done is very upsetting, I feel threatened and intimidated.

"I feel demoralised and not wanting to go out. The language used made me feel scared. I felt it was an attack on me.

"The consequences are I feel she will attack me. I felt by having a restraining order it would make me feel safe but by someone breaching it it has made me feel very vulnerable."

Nicholas Hamblin, representing Katie, said she had pleaded guilty to the breach but had been under a "misunderstanding" that the restraining order "worked both ways."

He said that there was an element of "provocation" and that she had been "over-reacting as she felt she was being criticised". He added: "She has shown signs of remorse."

Delivering his verdict, Judge Stephen Mooney told Katie in his judgement the offence had been "committed out of anger" and that the breach couldn't be "considered minor".

Kieran and Michelle later broke their silence over the verdict in a statement released this morning, saying they were "incredibly disappointed".

They said: "We feel a custodial sentence would have sent the right message to the public given the seriousness of Miss Price's offending."

Katie was married to Kieran from 2013 to 2021, they shared two children, Jett, eight, and Bunny, seven.
