Kieran Donaghy lands first gaelic football management job as he becomes joint manager of IT Tralee

Kerry legend Kieran Donaghy has taken his first major step on the management ladder as he joins the IT Tralee coaching ticket.

Donaghy has been appointed joint manager of the college's footballers, and will also be joined by former Kerry team mate Aidan O'Mahony - who joins as a selector.

The former Footballer of the Year will work alongside fellow manager Liam Brosnan and brings inter-county experience to the table having previously worked with the Galway senior hurlers last year as a performance coach.

The college boasts a number of Kerry stars within their ranks - including wonderkid David Clifford, Gavin Crowley and Dara Moynihan.

Speaking after his appointment, Donaghy said: "I am very excited by the challenge ahead, it's my first venture into management and I learned a lot working with the Galway hurlers last year.

"IT Tralee is a great asset to the county and the facilities are fantastic. I can't wait to work with an amazing bunch of players and I hope we can represent the Institute as best we can."

Clive O' Callaghan, Eoin O Shea and Joby Costello complete the Sigerson Cup side's backroom team.
