Kieran Culkin emulates Succession character Roman by threatening co-stars in Emmys race

Kieran Culkin has said he’ll punch Succession co-star Nicholas Braun “in the balls” if he beats him for an Emmy.

Culkin and Braun, who play Roman and Greg in the hit series respectively, were both nominated for their roles in the HBO show.

In an interview withEntertainment Weekly, Culkin spoke about the recently announced nominees for the forthcoming Emmy Awards ceremony in September.

Culkin said, “It’s me and Matthew and Nick in this category. Yeah, it’s kind of nuts. I’m going to have to kick Nick Braun in the balls if he beats me that’s all.”

The actor jokingly added, “I should say ‘punch’. I don’t think I can get my foot that high. But I can punch.” Known for his bumbling portrayal of cousin Greg, Braun stands at 198cm. Culkin, however, is 168cm tall.

Co-star Matthew Macfadyen, who playsSuccession's Tom, is also nominated in the same category for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.

Fans will be disappointed to learn that there are no concrete dates to begin filming season three, according to Culkin.

“All rumours. All hearsay. I don’t know anything about the season. I don’t know how many episodes, what kind of story it is.

“[There are] rumours about when we’re going to start shooting and where but nothing is concrete. We’re going to get back whenever it’s safe.”

Succession scored prime spots in this year’s list of Emmy contenders, leading the pack along with Watchmen and The Mandalorian.

The HBO series received 19 nominations in total, including Sarah Snook for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. Brian Cox and Jeremy Strong will also compete against one another for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.
