Kieffer Moore reveals Neil Harris' key influence in Cardiff City move and the significant role fans played

Kieffer Moore says Neil Harris' aspirations of leading Cardiff City into the Premier League along with the fans' love for the striker were key influences in his transfer to South Wales.

On Thursday afternoon, it was confirmed that Moore had joined the Bluebirds on a three-year deal from Wigan Athletic for an undisclosed fee, thought to be in the region of £2m.

He was on Cardiff's radar in January while he has also attracted interest from several other clubs.

But Moore says he was persuaded by Harris to make the move to the Welsh capital, adding that the support he had from fans even before his arrival was a major factor in his decision to join the club.

"It's been a long time coming," he told Cardiff City TV.

"The interest was there in January and things didn't happen, but to finally get this over the line, I'm thrilled."

And on why he joined, Moore said: "It's just the whole project really. His [Harris] desire is to get promoted into the Premier League, and that's something I share.

"The whole direction of the club and the players they've got here, they're all together and united and are aiming towards that objective."

The capture of Moore has proven to be a real hit with the Cardiff faithful.

And discussing the supporters, Moore said: "That was a deciding factor for me. I know I'm going to play really good football here and the game really suits my game as well.

"To have the backing of the fans straight away is amazing.

"I've had some great memories at this ground and I did score two goals against Cardiff here last year. I know the team and I know a couple of lads already so it's a real good fit for me.

"I played with Rallsy [Joe Ralls] a while ago and he's done exceptionally well here, and the same with Will [Vaulks] when I was at Rotherham.

"For me to come to a team where I already know people is only going to help me in the long run."

Moore becomes Harris' first permanent signing as Cardiff City boss.

The towering frontman netted 10 times in 36 Championship appearances for Wigan last term, while he has scored two goals in his five outings for Wales.
