Kiefer Sutherland's love of Greggs stuns Alan Carr as he appears on his podcast

Alan Carr was left in disbelief when A-lister Kiefer Sutherland shared his massive love for Greggs on the comedian's podcast.

Stars like Ferne Cotton, Damon Albarn and Louis Theroux have all appeared on travel podcast 'Life's A Beach' hosted by the former Chatty Man host turned Drag Race UK judge.

Kiefer, star of films like Stand By Me, Young Guns, The Lost Boys and Flatliners and the lead in TV phenomenon 24s and Designated Survivor, was one of the first big names to appear on the podcast's third series and was quizzed by Alan on how he was with local street food when it came to visiting different places,

Kiefer who also fronts the Kiefer Sutherland Band, has just released his third album and has played Sage Gateshead in the past, as part of the the SummerTyne Americana festival..

When he was on stage on Tyneside, Keifer told the audience how much he loved Greggs and he waxed lyrical about the North East bakery on LIfe's A Beach, much to Alan's surprise.

Talking about touring, the 55-year-old said: "The band are all from the US, the crew, apart from one, are all from the US, so Greggs is a highlight for us."

Stopping him, Alan interrupted: "Greggs?! I can't believe Kiefer Sutherland had a Greggs!"

Kiefer, who also shared his love for Greggs on The One show in 20129, continued: "The way to get everyone off the tour bus in one go is to say 'we're at Greggs, does anyone want something?' and the bus would empty out!"

Mentioning the fact that there are numerous Greggs drive-thrus across the UK, Alan added: "When you come over here you're going to cream your draws as there's now drive-thru Greggs!

"You won't even have to get off the bus!"

Keifer then told Alan that each of his band and crew have a different thing they like from Greggs, remarking: "Not everyone just wants a sausage roll!"
