Kids' party rammy ends with one man seriously injured and two arrested

Two men have been arrested after it's claimed on man was slashed across the face following a fight at a kid's party in Motherwell.

Police raced to reports of a 'disturbance' on St Vincent Place on Sunday, August 22, at around 4.50pm.

One man was left with serious injuries in the incident, the Daily Record reports.

The 55-year-old was rushed to Wishaw General Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries to his face.

Paramedics were also called to the scene as part of a garden was taped off.

Locals suggested the incident broke out in the back garden of a flat block on the street.

It's thought a children's party was taking place in the garden before the incident took place.

A bouncy castle had been on the grass but was removed shortly afterwards.

Police have now launched a probe and two men, aged 55 and 29, have been arrested.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received a report of a disturbance at St Vincent Place, Motherwell, around 4.50pm on Sunday, 22 August.

"Two men, aged 55 and 29, were arrested. The 55-year-old man was taken to Wishaw General hospital with a serious but not life threatening facial injury. Enquiries are ongoing."
