Kids injured in Glasgow's Duke Street as two youngsters hit by car

Two kids have been hospitalised this evening after being hit by a car in the East End of Glasgow.

The smash happened on Duke Street, near Shettleston Road, shortly before 5pm today.

Both kids have been taken to the Royal Hospital for Children with no update on their condition.

Cops have shutdown Shettleston Road to the Biggar Street roundabout and Duke Street, between Todd Street and Shettleston Road.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "We were made aware of a crash involving a car and two pedestrians, both children, around 4.45pm on Thursday, 19th November.

"Emergency services are currently at the scene and the road is currently closed. Both children will be taken to the Royal Hospital for Children for treatment."

Shocked locals gave their reaction as news of the crash spread this evening.

Dennistoun Councillor Allan Casey told Glasgow Live : "Shocked to hear of this accident on Duke Street, I really hope everyone involved is safe and well".
