Kids fun at Polkemmet Country Park

Kids flocked to Polkemmet Country Park last week to join in the fun at the latest Wild Wednesdays event.

West Lothian Council ranger service has been running the sessions in local parks for the past four years and they have proved popular with local families, with plenty of kids turning out to join in the fun.

The events offer nature, environmental, outdoor activities and entertainment aimed at children and families.

The idea is to educate and inspire youngsters about nature and conservation, promote use and sense of ownership of local green spaces, encourage outdoor activity and environmental awareness and offer activities which are accessible to all.

There are two more Wild Wednesdays still to take place this summer.

They are on July 31 at Peel Park, Livingston, and on August 7 at Almondell and Calderwood Country Park.

Wild Wednesdays run between 11am and 3pm.
