Kids cause 'thousands of pounds' worth of damage to Lanarkshire high school

Police in Lanarkshire have issued a warning to youngsters congregating at a school.

Officers reported incidents of youths playing within the grounds of Cardinal Newman High School in Bellshill.

Reports suggest youngsters have been “climbing on the roof,” carrying out acts of “vandalism to windows and benches,” and even “wilful fire raising”.

A Police Scotland Tweet read: “There’s been thousands of pounds in damage and it’s extremely dangerous.”

Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 101.

Information can be left anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
