Kids can watch screening of The Land Before Time at Edinburgh museum with the dinosaurs

Do you have any youngsters who are fascinated by dinosaurs?

While they may be extinct, there is a place that you can take the kids to get a glimpse of them - and it's right here in Edinburgh.

The National Museum of Scotland, on Chambers Street, unveiled their "cutting-edge" Tyrannosaurs exhibition in January.

There's plenty to see with life-sized dinosaurs through an augmented reality experience, rare fossil specimens, incredible models and giant skeletons.

And now they can catch the all-time dinosaur 1980’s classic, The Land Before Time, produced by Steven Spielberg and George Lucas.

The film follows an orphaned “long neck” dinosaur called Littlefoot and his new friends as they face a dangerous journey to a beautiful, food-rich valley.

The film is being screened at the museum this Sunday at 11am and makes a great weekend activity for the family, with tickets costing just £3 from the museum website here.

If you are looking for a night out without the kids, there is also a late night, dinosaur-themed boozy silent disco at the museum later this month - here's everything you need to know.
