Kids can travel free on Luas, DART and bus services for the month of July

There's great news for kids using public transport this summer after it was announced that all children under 19 will be able to avail of free travel next month.

It has been announced that Child Leap Card holders will be able to travel on Luas, DART and bus services from 1 to 28 July.

Commuter rail services in Dublin's 'Short Hop Zone' are also included as are Bus Eireann services in Dublin and surrounding counties, excluding Expressway services.

Any Child Leap Card (4-15 or 16-18) can be used to get free travel from Monday 1st July until Sunday 28th July (inclusive) provided it has at least 1 cent Travel Credit.

The news will come as music to the ears of parents who will have to stump up less for travel costs for the likes of summer camps and family outings.
