Kidnapped' woman who messaged family about being held in 'dark room' is found

The family of a missing woman whose last message to them said she was in a "dark room" and "scared", have spoken of their relief after she was found.

Jasmin Cheyenne Brickey went missing from Grand Rapids, Michigan on Sunday. The 20-year-old then sent a series of messages to her family before her phone went dead.

Her mother, Barbara Brickey, said she had been "kidnapped" and was being held in a "dark room somewhere".

"Ok all friends and family please help Jasmin has been kidnapped she is in a dark room somewhere she don't know where. THIS IS NOT A JOKE," she wrote on Facebook

"The last thing she go out was she was in a dark room she thinks is a basement and she is scared."

Two days after her disappearance, Ms Brickey, again took to Facebook to announce her daughter had been found.

"She is OK," she wrote.

However, the details surrounding the case have yet to emerge.

"The police are handling it no details can be released yet because of a few things," Ms Brickey said.

Grand Rapids Police Department said in a statement: "Jasmin Brickey was located safe and sound and is reunited with her family."

They added that their Family Services Team was currently investigating her disappearance.
