A reporter for the BBC has disappeared in Islamabad. There are fears that Dilawar Khan, a journalist with for the Urdu-language section of the BBC World Service and the daily newspaper, Dawn, has been kidnapped. His brother said that he made a call to Dilawar on his mobile and it was answered by a man calling himself Dr Jamshed who claimed the reporter was in hospital after a road accident. BBC colleagues then made checks at various hospitals in the city but found no trace of the missing reporter. Dilawar's home has been attacked repeatedly in recent years.
