Kid shunned by Iowa fan for foul ball gets replacement baseball signed by Buckeye team

I always do my best to not judge others actions, but I had a hard time coming to grips with what an Iowa middle-aged man did during Ohio State baseball’s game against Maryland earlier today. A foul ball was sprayed back into the field, and as usual, a dash ensued to get a souvenir.

A kid with an Ohio State shirt had a beat on the foul ball at TD Ameritrade Park, but he was cut off by a portly man wearing an Iowa shirt. The man had to know a child was beaming to get the ball, yet he reaches down and snatches it for his own benefit.

We of course have no way to know what the motivation was here, or why there was such a celebration for taking a foul ball away from a child, but you do you buddy.

Never fear folks. It appears as though somebody made good on this whole sordid thing by giving the kid a replacement ball signed by the Ohio State players.

We don’t know if this was orchestrated by the fine folks at the Big Ten Tournament, the TD Ameritrade Park brass, or Ohio State itself, but it’s clear the Buckeyes were happy to oblige and make a wrong that should have never happened an even better outcome.

Well played Ohio State, and shame on you Hawkeye fan.
