Kickstarter campaign to open Leeds' first ever dedicated pasta restaurant

A kickstarter campaign has been launched in a bid to open Leeds' first ever dedicated pasta restaurant.

Leeds' independent food scene is flourishing at the moment, and the exciting new project represents a partnership between two of the hottest names on the indie scene.

Sarto is a proposed new venture by established Leeds city centre spots Laynes Espresso and The Brunswick, and they are hoping to raise £15,000 to ensure that the new restaurant can open this Autumn.

The restaurant would be based at Munro House which is close to Leeds Bus Station - they would take the empty unit previously occupied by Ipsum Vinoteca.

To give everyone a taste of what Sarto is about the team are holding events at Laynes Espresso, so you can try their starters like truffle arancini , and desserts like the classic Italian Tiramisu.

They will also be serving up amazing pasta mains such as tagliatelle with lamb shoulder ragu, ricotta & mint, and Pici with pangrattato, summer squash purée & sage.

How to get involved?

The taster evenings will be taking place on 30 & 31 August, 6 & 7 September and 13 & 14 September, you can buy tickets here.

Full details of the kickstarter campaign can be found here.
