Kia Joorabchian sends strong message to Stan Kroenke over Arsenal's transfer strategy

Arsenal's top brass have been sent a warning by Kia Joorabchian about their summer transfer activity.

The Gunners have only signed one player so far this summer, with Brazilian teenager Gabriel Martinelli arriving from Ituano for an undisclosed fee.

Arsenal have been linked with many other players, including Crystal Palace ace Wilfried Zaha, Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser and Saint Etienne defender William Saliba, among others.

But with reports of a limited budget in place at the Emirates Stadium after Arsenal missed out on a place in the Champions League for a third season in a row, Joorabchian has fired a word of caution to the club's ownership.

Speaking to Talksport, the Iranian-born businessman who has been an advisor to such players as Carlos Tevez, Ramires and now Philippe Coutinho, said: “I feel for those guys who have just come in.

“They have incredible, knowledgeable people there. [Unai] Emery is a fantastic coach who has worked at Sevilla and at Paris Saint-Germain, Raul [Sanllehi] has been at Barcelona, and Edu has been at Brazil.

“I think finally in the backroom staff, they have people who really understand football and are football people, the question is whether or not the finances will be made available.

“If you don’t make the finances available, it is no big secret, you cannot buy strong players, and they have to have to reinforce in defence, in midfield and probably reinforce out wide.

“Many clubs are looking for world class strikers; they don’t have that [issue], but the rest of the squad is lacking

“Unless the finance is available, it puts a lot of pressure on these guys.”

Joorabchian grew up supporting Arsenal and it has previously been reported that he considered investing in the Gunners in the past.
