Superagent Kia Joorabchian says the future of his client David Luiz will be resolved this week, along with a number of other items of interest regarding the club.
Luiz - who put in a nightmare performance as he gave away a penalty and got sent off during Arsenal's 3-0 defeat to Manchester City on Wednesday - has been linked with a move away from the club recently, with his contract due to expire later this month.
It is believed he is keen on a return to his former club Benfica, but his Gunners manager Mikel Arteta has said he want to keep the centre-back.
Speaking to talkSPORT , Joorabchian insisted the matter would be dealt with very soon, while also hinting there would be further news to come from Arsenal.
"The situation from Arsenal's point of view will be resolved this week," Joorabchian said. "Not just David Luiz's situation. There are several issues within the whole structure that will be resolved.
"The contract situation has dragged on not because of the will of David or Arsenal to finalise but really the situation that has occurred with the pandemic... the situation from Arsenal’s point of view will be resolved this week."
Luiz only joined the Gunners from Chelsea last summer, but he has put in a number of shaky performances, and was slated by the likes of Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher following his dreadful showing against Chelsea.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Carragher said: "People keep talking about experience, sometimes it's one of the most overrated qualities.
"It doesn’t matter how old you are. David Luiz is not good enough for Arsenal. They’ve got a young French lad coming in next season, they’ve bought Mari, they need another one because they’ve still got Sokratis.
"Mustafi played tonight. These are not good enough. The problem with someone like a David Luiz, you think you’ll do this and do that and get the best out of him. You won’t.
