Ki-Jana Hoever bids emotional farewell to Liverpool as he completes Wolves move

Ki-Jana Hoever has posted an emotional farewell message to Liverpool on his Instagram account as his £13.5m transfer to Wolves was confirmed.

The Dutch defender completed his move to Nuno Espirito Santo's side on Saturday, with his Wolves teammate Diogo Jota heading the other way.

The 18-year-old spent two seasons at Liverpool after joining from Ajax in 2018 but was unable to establish himself in the first-team, failing to make a Premier League appearance last season and playing just three times in the FA Cup and Carabao Cup, and the move looks a good deal for all parties.

Hoever took to Instagram on Saturday to say his goodbyes to Liverpool, and included a number of pictures of himself in action for the Reds along with his post.

"Thank you to everyone at @liverpoolfc who has helped to play a part in my progression over the past 2 years on and off the pitch!" he wrote.

"It’s been an honour to represent such a big club and be around top players and staff every day. I’ll never forget the memories I made here."

A number of his Liverpool teammates responded to the post, with Rhian Brewster saying: "Good luck bro" and Harvey Elliott adding: "All the best brother."

Santo had his say on the moves of both Hoever and Jota ahead of Wolves' Premier League clash against Manchester City on Monday, and seemed satisfied with the outcome.

"Liverpool are going to have a great player and boy, and Ki has a bright future ahead of him," he said.

"We think this deal is good for everybody. What Diogo did for us is absolutely fantastic. Things happen when naturally they should happen.

"He's going to the right place. He'll never be forgotten by our fans."
