ARLINGTON, Texas _ There are few combinations in baseball that go together quite as well as Khris Davis and Globe Life Park.
Khris Davis entered the night with 15 home runs in 27 career games at the stadium. Add another one to the total after Friday night's 8-6 win over the Texas Rangers.
Davis pummeled a first-pitch curveball from Chris Martin over the center-field wall. Like most of them do, the solo home run came at a clutch time in the eighth inning to break a 6-6 tie.
It was his major league-leading 10th home run of the season. Davis has now homered in three straight games after homering twice in each of his previous two games, giving him a total of five over the past three games.
Davis will be sad to see Globe Life Park get torn down next season when the Rangers (6-7) move into their new ballpark just down the street. His 16 home runs at the park are tied for seventh-most by a visiting player. Jason Giambi hit the most with 20.
With Friday's game just the first of nine, the A's will play at Globe Life, and Davis having now homered at the park in seven of his last eight games there, the slugger stands a good chance to finish off the park's existence with the distinction of most home runs by an opposing player.
Davis' homer to give the A's a lead capped off a comeback in a game where they trailed by as many as five after the Rangers tagged Mike Fiers for six runs through the first five innings. The A's (10-8) plated home four runs in the sixth to get within a run before Ramon Laureano smashed a game-tying solo home run in the seventh.
Josh Phegley added an insurance run in the eighth by singling home Jurickson Profar and Blake Treinen picked up his fifth save of the season with a scoreless ninth as the A's won their fourth in a row.
