Khloé Kardashian vents frustration about 'debilitating' and 'torturous' migraines

Khloe Kardashian has spoken out about suffering from "debilitating" migraines and called out those who diminish other people's pain.

The 37-year-old reality star took to social media on Monday to reveal she'd left home without her migraine medication and opened up about the 'torturous" pain she endures.

"I wish people understood how debilitating migraines can be," the mum-of-one wrote to her 29.4 million followers on Twitter.

"I get so frustrated when people tell me to push through and it’s just a bad headache if only they knew!!" she continued.

"That feeling is torturous and indescribable. I can’t believe I left home without my migraine medication."

Khloe Kardashian shared a tweet about her migraines (Twitter)

Fans were quick to reply to the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star with tips and tricks, as well as enquiring about which medication she takes to combat the pain.

Khloe went on to reveal that she takes a "medication called nurtec ODT" to treat her migraines, as well as swapping stories and chatting to fans in the replies to her tweet.

Khloe has suffered with migraines since she was a child (E!)

When one follower suggested that "Daith ear piercings" may help reduce the pain of a migraine, the star wasn't too keen on the idea - replying that she doesn't "have the balls" to go through with a piercing.

A few social media users pointed out to the Good American founder that being on a phone or computer can make the pain worse, but the reality TV star clarified things in her follow up tweet.

"I am totally fine now. There’s no way I could be on my phone if I was still experiencing my migraine," she explained to her followers.

"I was simply venting because I had to push back a meeting due to my migraine. when I apologized [sic] and explained why I couldn’t make it earlier, everyone sort of rolled their eyes."

Khloe also opened up about how her health issues impact her time with her daughter.

The star is mum to three-year-old True who she shares with ex Tristan Thompson.

She replied to a fan on Twitter explaining that she feels the "worst" migraines can sometimes come in between her and True.

"They really are the worst!" Khloe emphasised when replying.

"I feel so badly when I get one especially when they come in between me and my daughter. She’s only three years old so she doesn’t understand that I genuinely cannot lift my head up when I experienced [sic] one."

She added: "Most adults don’t understand."

This isn't the first time Khloe has opened up about her struggle with migraines.

Last year, the 37-year-old star spoke with Prevention about the "debilitating headaches " she began suffering from in the sixth grade.

The star confessed that the embarrassment of telling her family she was suffering stopped her from asking for help.

"I would just be incapacitated in bed," she told the publication.

"I would not be able to lift my head up, and being that young, it was scary."

Thankfully at 16, Khloe sought help via one of mum Kris Jenner's friends, who also suffered from migraines, and the star got a diagnosis and the medication she needed.
