Khloe Kardashian shares image of facial incision after skin cancer removal: ‘Melanoma is deadly’

Khloe Kardashian has shared the severity of the surgery she underwent to remove a melanoma last year.

The Good American founder gave fans their first look at the large vertical incision on her left cheek in a new trailer for the upcoming installment of The Kardashians.

In a brutal post-op image, a doctor is seen holding a ruler up to the freshly stitched wound to highlight its length of four centimetres.

The reality TV star, who is predisposed to melanoma, previously had surgery to remove it on her back 19 years ago.

Now in the newly-released Disney+ teaser, viewers watched as the famous family reacted to her latest skin cancer scare and expressed their concerns about her wellbeing.

Her younger sister Kylie Jenner, 25, is seen speaking to the 38-year-old and says with concern: “Mom just told me that it’s melanoma”.

The TV personality admits in the teaser: ‘This was way more serious than I anticipated it to be’ (Disney+)

Then momager Kris Jenner shares her worries in a confessional: “This on her face is very concerning,” before showing footage of the TV personality sporting a large bandage across her face.

Her friend Malika Haqq then remarks that she’s never “seen her this low” while sister Kendall Jenner, 27, comments “she doesn’t sleep, she lost a lot weight” as scenes of Khloe play of her holding her newborn son and undergoing scans in a hospital.

Reflecting on the health scare, Khloe says earnestly: “Melanoma is deadly. This was way more serious than I anticipated it to be.”

Back in October, the mother-of-two took to her Instagram to address photos of her bandaged face, explaining that she had a tumour from her cheek removed, which was fortunately “caught early”.

At the time, she wrote: “After noticing a small bump on my face and assuming it was something as minor as a zit, I decided to get it biopsied 7 months after realising it was not budging.”

She revealed that two doctors had biopsied the lump as what they were seeing was “incredibly rare” for someone of her age.

Continuing her posts, she added: “A few days later I was told I need to have an immediate operation to remove a tumour from my face. I am grateful to share that Dr. Fischer was able to get everything – all my margins appear clear and now we are onto the healing process.

“So here we are… you’ll probably see a scar (and an indentation in my cheek from the tumour being removed) but until then I hope you enjoy how fabulous I’m making these face bandages look.”

Khloe told fans that the reason she was speaking out was to encourage others to get themselves checked if they spot anything unusual.
