Khloe Kardashian didn't feel safe at school because she looked different to sisters

Khloe Kardashian says she didn't feel safe in school because her classmates constantly quizzed her about why she looked so different to her sisters.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star has been vocal about how the comparisons drawn between her and older siblings Kim and Kourtney made her feel.

Khloe, 37, suffered from insecurities, admitting she felt like the "fat, ugly sister".

And that's something she struggled with even before her fame, with her classmates quizzing her over whether or not she was even related to Kim and Kourtney.

Speaking to Leomie Anderson on her Role Model podcast, Khloe explained how she forged her parents' signatures so she could switch to a different school.

She said: "We lived in Hidden Hills and I ended up finding this school and it was a homeschool called the Alexandria Academy. I have no idea how I found it and I ended up enrolling myself.

"I forged my parents' name or something like that and when my dad found out, he was really p****d off to say the least, but he said, 'I can't believe how much effort you went through to do this. So I'm going to let you ride it out but if your grades go under...'

"I think it was like, some crazy GPA. He was like, 'I'm ripping you out in two seconds, you're going back to Marymount'. And I ended up really advancing and I needed that one-on-one focus. And, I think I just needed to feel just that someone was paying attention to me.

"There was so many other kids at the other school and it just wasn't my thing. I kept getting questioned if I was really related to my sisters, because I look so differently, I just kept getting it. I didn't feel comfortable. I didn't feel safe there. Not like in a way I would be attacked but I just didn't feel like I connected. And so I did what I had to do and I actually thrived and I graduated with honours and I graduated early."

Khloe also opened up about sharing the bad times, as well as the good, with viewers of her family's reality show.

Over the years, fans have seen Khloe struggle with the death of her father Robert, the breakdown of her marriage to Lamar Odom, and her dealing with Tristan Thompson, the father of her daughter True, cheating on her multiple times.

She explained: "For me, it's such an honour that people feel so connected and I don't take that lightly. And I definitely tried to be as respectful and aware of that as possible, but at the same time, it's also a great deal of pressure too.

"So as grateful and honoured as I think all of us are, and we know there's a great responsibility that people are looking up to us at the same time. We're like, as you said, I was 22 or 23 when I started, I'm going to make the mistakes that any person in their twenties does just trying to figure out life. And I don't want to have that held over my head for the rest of my life.

"But I think that's why I chose to be so vulnerable as much as I could showing, like, okay, this was a choice I made, I made a really bad decision or I showed my DUI and I expressed how stupid and careless and irresponsible that is."

She went on: "I tried to live a very honest life, both on camera and off-camera and hopefully people respected that even if I'm criticised for mistakes that I've made, or if I'm criticised for choices I've made staying with Matt or whatever I'm criticised for at least I hope people can walk away and say, at least she was true to what she was doing and I wasn't putting it on a show for anybody, if that makes sense."
