The Khao Sok National Park in Surat Thani has been hailed as one of the eight most beautiful national parks around the world by France’s Vogue magazine.
Vogue's website describes the park as an “emerald treasure blanketed in verdant forest, sheltering over 300 different species of bird that have coexisted in the jungle for over 160 million years”.
The magazine also recommended Chiew Larn Lake for its "mystical peaks" of trees engulfed by water.
Surat Thani governor Wichawut Jinto said Khao Sok’s unspoiled ecology has attracted many foreign visitors from Europe, China and other Asian countries.
