Khamzat Chimaev calls for fights against Georges St-Pierre and Brock Lesnar, wrestling match against Daniel Cormier

It seems Khamzat Chimaev wants to wrestle anybody these days.

On Monday evening, the undefeated UFC welterweight offered up a number of challenges to MMA legends to meet him inside the cage or on the wrestling mat.

Chimaev (10-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) recently took on fellow UFC fighter Jack Hermansson in a freestyle wrestling match in Sweden and won on points. Always hungry for competition, Chimaev threw a few darts at the board via social media to see if anything would stick, calling for fights against former UFC champions Brock Lesnar, Georges St-Pierre, and Daniel Cormier.

“Let’s fight till one man leaves the cage,” Chimaev wrote to former heavyweight champ Lesnar.

“New king of UFC vs. a legend. What you think?” Chimaev offered to former two-division champion St-Pierre.

“Let’s make a wrestling match brother, what you think?” Chimaev asked to former champ-champ Cormier.

Cormier quickly responded with a message of his own. “In a real wrestling match?” Cormier replied. “Are you crazy Khamzat? Love that you’re confident, but brother this is 10-0 DC!”

Chimaev’s series of issues got the attention of at least one former champion, and it appears Cormier is confident their clash on the mats would be a complete shutout.

Chimaev stepped into the cage at UFC 267, successfully returning from a serious bout with COVID-19 to defeat Li Jingliang in the first round by submission. A few weeks later he beat Hermansson in a wrestling match and is now already looking for more action on the mats.

While he does not have another MMA bout in the works at the time, chances are he won’t be away from the cage for too long considering his activity before being severely ill.
