Saudi Deputy Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman held talks in Riyadh on Sunday with Yemeni Prime Minister Maeen Abdulmalik on efforts to reach stability in the war-torn country.
They tackled Saudi Arabia's efforts and initiative aimed at achieving security, peace and stability in Yemen. They also discussed several issues of common interest.
Prince Khalid stressed to the PM the commitment of the Saudi-led Arab coalition towards the Yemeni government and people.
He underscored its commitment to reaching a political solution to the conflict in Yemen based on the three references so that it can meet the people's aspirations and preserve the security of the region.
He underlined the Kingdom's constant support to the Yemeni government against the coup wage by the Iran-backed Houthi militias and to preserving Yemen's security and stability.
The Kingdom is monitoring the challenging economic situation endured by the Yemeni people and welcomes the recent measures taken by the Central Bank to ease the crisis, he added.
It welcomes the efforts to combat corruption and reform the economy that are aimed at improving the financial situation in Yemen, he continued.
For his part, Abdulmalik hailed Saudi Arabia's ongoing support to Yemen on all levels.
Its support to the Central Bank has had a major impact on stabilizing the currency and the economy, he remarked.
Moreover, the Kingdom's oil derivatives grant has provided a sustainable electricity supply and eased the financial burdens on the government, he noted.
