Saudi Deputy Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman hailed on Tuesday the signing of the Riyadh agreement between the legitimate Yemen government and Southern Transitional Council (STC).

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz sponsored the agreement in Riyadh. The signing ceremony was attended by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahyan.

Prince Khalid tweeted that the agreement crowns the efforts led by Saudi Arabia and Crown Prince Mohammed to achieve security, stability, peace and development in Yemen.

Saudi Arabia praises the positive response from Yemeni President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi and the STC, who placed the interests of the people above all else. He also highlighted the positive role played by the United Arab Emirates that led to the signing of the agreement.

He hoped that the agreement will open a new chapter in Yemen where honest dialogue between all the people prevails in order to reach a political solution that resolves their country’s conflict.
