Khadi sale at Nanded railway station

AURANGABAD: Under the ‘one station, one product’ initiative of the Indian Railways, khadi garments and other indigenous products are being sold at attractive rates at the Nanded railway station.

Rajesh Shinde, the public relations officer of South Central Railway’s (SCR) Nanded division, said different items produced by Marathwada Khadi Gramodyog have been put up for sale at attractive rates at a stall set up on the railway station.

He said, “The one station, one product initiative has been launched by the railways in keeping with an official announcement in the Union budget for 2022-23. It aims to make railway stations a promotional hub for locally manufactured projects to offer livelihood to local artisans and craftsmen and hence boost the local economy.”

Shinde said the stall set up at Nanded railway station is easily accessible to passengers while boarding or alighting trains.

“Different NGOs, Self-help groups, public sector agencies and artisans are requested to take part in the initiative and make it a huge success,” he said. Parbhani, Washim and Adilabad railway stations have been currently covered under ‘one station, one product.’
