LUCKNOW: Several well known Indian designers participated in a special khadi fashion show, which was organised as part of the ongoing Khadi Mahotsav on Thursday.
Organised by the Khadi Gramudyog Board as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to mark the 75th year of India’s Independence, the fashion show was held to popularise khadi as a fabric and showcase its use for traditional and contemporary clothes.
“Fashion designers like Ritu Beri, Farah Ansari, Rina Dhaka, Asma Husain, Aditi Rastogi and Himmat Singh showcased their designs. Gaurav Gaur directed the fashion show with clothes like lehengas, kurtis, kurta pajamas and partywear,” said a government spokesperson.
Lucknowi chikankari and silk artisans also participated in the event. Lucknow designer Asma Husain showcased a wedding collection on khadi.
