Khabib Nurmagomedov's withering response to Conor McGregor's latest tweets

Khabib Nurmagomedov has shot down Conor McGregor's latest tweet which was aimed at the former UFC champion.

McGregor posted a tweet appearing to mock the Russian's late father after his first round stoppage defeat to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264.

The pair have engaged in a feud ever since their duel back at UFC 229, where the Russian submitted his opponent in the fourth round with a neat choke-hold that sparked furious scenes at the end of the contest between both teams as they clashed over the result.

And the Russian has since responded to the tweet that was aimed at his father, after a previous period of silence surrounding the matter.

When asked in an interview with TMZ Sports if McGregor had crossed the line, Khabib replied "I think so."

The Russian also responded to questions surrounding his future in the UFC and if he could return to the cage, to which he repeatedly replied "no".

McGregor's latest tweet aimed at Khabib's father joins a library of recent tweets aimed at various members of the Russian's family including his cousin and wife.

The rival has continued ever since the Irishman's defeat which promptly began a series of defeats for the 33-year-old including two consecutive defeats to Poirier with his last victory over Donald Cerrone on his comeback after the Nurmagomedov heartache.

And UFC pundit and podcaster Joe Rogan broke down the 'fulcrum choke' that ended the fight in the famous victory back in 2018 in Las Vegas.

"After the fight was over, he did a thing on his Instagram page where he explained the technique. It's not a move that I've ever used< Rogan explained on his podcast.

"Khabib is going across the jaw and then he's putting his forearm behind your back.

"So as he's gripping, he's got your head wrapped up in his arm and this (the forearm) pressing against your back and he uses that as a lever.

"So he's using the elbow as a fulcrum to crank your neck and you see Conor at the end of the fight."

McGregor's latest retirement came with claims that he had suffered 'stress fractures' during his training camp in addition to UFC president Dana White ruling that the Irishman had suffered from 'chronic arthritis ' in his ankles.

A sports doctor has since cast doubt over the 'proof' that McGregor attached to the claims stating that there are 'no traumas or fractures' on the photos, and his opponent Poirier has since responded labelling the claims as 'excuses', likening them to his reasoning behind the collapse of a fight deal with Manny Pacquiao.

His former opponent Nurmagomedov has recently joined Mike Tyson on his Hotboxin' podcast where he has featured alongside Henry Cejudo, and has wished for Tyson's 'boxing ability' during his career.

The Russian lightweight also weighed in on the British boxing debate between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, stating that he believes Fury is the 'best fighter in the world' backing him over the likes of Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford.
