Khabib Nurmagomedov's sly dig at Conor McGregor over their post-fight brawl

Khabib Nurmagomedov has taken a dig at Conor McGregor over the brawl which took place after their fight in 2018.

The Russian has continued to be embroiled in a bitter rivalry with the Irishman since announcing his retirement last year, Mirror UK reports.

And the pair have continued to spat on social media, with the Dubliner posting a series of deleted tweets aimed at the former lightweight.

Now Nurmagomedov has aimed his latest sneer at McGregor making a reference to the post-fight clash at their historic meeting.

He posted on Instagram alongside a picture of his rival: "Where is my medal from Bastrykin? I was also beaten by Dagestan's in a crowd."

His latest dig referred to an incident between a group of Dagestani nationals who allegedly attacked a girl and were defended by a Russian man who was awarded the Departmental Medal of Valour and Courage.

Nurmagomedov appeared to compare the incident to his post-fight row with McGregor.

The incident rounded off a tense and historic clash, with chaotic scenes sparked after the Russian submitted his opponent with a choke hold.

McGregor has been aiming various tweets at Nurmagomedov since his defeat to Poirier, including a below-the-belt jibe at his late father.

And the 33-year-old Russian went on an explosive rant, labelling the Irishman "dirty" in response to the outburst.

“When he talked about this, only evil can talk about your father, wife, kids, religion,” Nurmagomedov said on Mike Tyson's Hotboxin' podcast.

“If you’re a normal human, you’re never going to talk about this stuff. For me, I think he post this tweet (while) drunk too much or (he was doing) something.

"Then the next day, he always delete these tweets. When he become normal life (he looks at his phone) and says, ‘Oh, look what I did.’ Then he delete. This is my opinion what he do all the time. When someone is not with us – he is not even alive – this shows what you have inside. This shows how dirty you are.

"When you one of the best in the world and you come and you punch someone who is like 70 years old, like an old man (in a pub), this shows your heart. This shows who you are inside, how dirty you are.

"When you have parents and you have kids, how can you show yourself like this? I don’t understand why his close people don’t go, ‘Hey, what’s going on?'"
