Khabib Nurmagomedov's father calls out Conor McGregor over UFC rematch

Khabib Nurmagomedov's father has called out Conor McGregor and claimed "Moscow is waiting for him".

McGregor and Nurmagomedov were involved in a fierce rivalry, culminating in the Irishman losing by submission at UFC 229 last October.

The bout was marred by a huge melee after the bout as Khabib climbed over the Octagon to attack one of McGregor's team-mates sparking chaotic scenes.

Both fighters received bans and fines with McGregor yet to appear in the Octagon since.

Khabib returned to action with an impressive win over Dustin Poirier last month, prompting McGregor to call for a rematch on Twitter in the immediate aftermath.

Khabib and his advisor have claimed they have no interest in taking on the Irish legend on his long-awaited return.

But his father has now waded in and dared McGregor to head to Russia for a huge second showdown.

Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov told YouTube channel Zhivina100: “If McGregor wants it, then Moscow is waiting for him.

“He said once that he has more fans here than  Khabib .

“We want to host him in Moscow, he is welcome – we are waiting.”

Khabib recently claimed their rivalry will "never be finished" but declared he needs to put together a lengthy unbeaten run before a rematch is even considered.

He told ESPN : "Even [the October fight] did not finish it, Just to smash people is not enough. I talk about just smash only him? It’s not enough. We have to smash all his team.

“This is what I think before the fight. This is what I say to my team: ‘Hey, tonight, we’re going to war; this is not about a fight.’

“It will never be finished, ever. Even if we see (each other) somewhere, we’re going to fight, 100 per cent.

“It doesn't matter if someone goes to jail or something like this. I'm not scared about this - they go to hospital and we go to police. That's it.

“This guy has to come back and make nine or 10-fight win streak, then we going to fight.

“I want to fight real guys - Dustin Poirier, Tony Ferguson, maybe if one of the greatest athletes ever, George St-Pierre, wants to fight.

“I want to fight those guys. I don't want to fight with a guy who never wins.”
