Khabib Nurmagomedov's donation to Dustin Poirier shows Conor McGregor in bad light

Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor have been involved in a bitter Twitter spat this week.

The pair showed a huge amount of mutual respect in the lead up to their fight in January, but things between them have turned sour.

Their issues began when Poirier accused McGregor of failing to follow through on an offer to donate $500,000 to his charity, The Good Fight Foundation.

The Irishman hit back and claimed a lack of infrastructure within the charity was behind his reluctance to donate the huge sum.

But McGregor's actions have led to footage re-emerging of an exchange between Poirier and Khabib Nurmagomedov in the aftermath of their fight at UFC 242.

The Russian donated $100,000 to the foundation - an amount latter matched by UFC president Dana White.

Poirier went on to say: “I’m proud of that. I appreciate them helping out the charity. It’s been growing and I’m very grateful for that.”

McGregor and Poirier were destined to fight for a third time before the Notorious claimed he was cancelling the fight.

Despite that the trilogy bout has been announced by UFC chief White and they will clash at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas in front of a 20,000 capacity crowd at UFC 264.

He said: "This summer, Las Vegas is back open for business. And on July 10, UFC 264 will be at the T-Mobile Arena here in Vegas at 100 per cent capacity.

"Ladies and gentlemen, that's 20,000 fans - and this card will be headlined by the third fight between Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor."

McGregor and Poirier have each beaten each other since their first fight in 2014.
